Gluten is a protein found in wheat. It is also found in barley, spelt, rye, kamut and is used as a thickening agent in many of our foods, dressings and sauces. It gives bread and pasta the elasticity and texture it has.
A gluten intolerance is on the rise and becoming more common today.
A gluten intolerance can cause bloating, gas, stomach pain, indigestion, headaches, muscle pain, diarrhea, joint pain and fatigue.
Gluten itself usually is not the problem but with the use of antibiotics, prescription medications, alcohol abuse, high carb and sugar diet, stress and much more, we have open the door for an unbalance in our system. We have damaged the beneficial bacteria in our bodies.
Our nutrients and vitamins levels could be low also, adding to the damage of balance.
Help yourself with a daily probiotic, cut your white flour, sugar consumption to a minimum or use Gluten Free (GF) products to help re-balance your system.
Making a small change will help you immediately. Take it one day at a time if you are suffering from this and make some changes. Please ask your doctor for advice, they are well aware of this problem.
