What is negativity? The opposite of positive is an easy description, but what does that mean? Here are a few words that come to mind when thinking of negativity, - unpleasant, disagreeable, refusing, gloomy, pessimistic, a bad outlook, unfavorable, hostile, mean, no faith, looks for the bad in everything, - characteristic's that are not positive, affirmative, or desirable,
When I think of negativity, I also think of less than zero. Nothing. Below. Not amounting to anything. Zip. We don't want to be less than zero, do we?
Negativity is dangerous to our overall life. All negative thoughts can cause stress and anxiety to our life and health. If we allow ourselves to be negative it will be easier to fall into negativity the next time and before we know it, everything coming out of our mouth will be negative also.
A person may not be able to stop once they give over to negativity. It's contagious and additive.
It is amazing how much sickness can come to the body with just negative thoughts. Anger, stress, worry, fretting, depression, sleeplessness, illness, disease will attack with just the negative thoughts going through the brain.
Living in the past and reliving all the mistakes you think you did is negativity. Thinking nothing can change is negativity. Being critical of others is negativity. Not seeing the good is negativity. This list can go on and on.
I have spent time with people who focus on a negative that happened years ago, - let me clarify here I'm not talking about a death or tragic loss, - and they are still living their life today as if it happened today. They bring that negative into their every day. They have not forgiven themselves of the negative, nor have they taken a moment to see if, - even though it was not the best of situations, - was it meant to be?
Was the negative, meant to be a good? - A positive in their life and they missed the whole point? Speaking out of the mouth those mistakes every day is also surrounding ourselves with them. We are creating them over again and again. Negativity only brings negativity. Period. There is no getting around that fact.
Negativity needs to stop. It must be replaced with positive thoughts, to get positive living.
Do not give power to the negative. What we focus on will be the power so to speak.
Is this easy? ... It can be. Can we do it? I believe we can with God's help! Let Him heal you of it. Ask for His help, drop it, give it to Him and let Him replace it.
Start replacing all negative thoughts with positive thoughts. Bring in the reinforcements and replace each negative thought with more than one positive thought, replace it with at least three! Look for the good in your circumstance. That is not always an easy one. I want to be realistic, there are times in life it is almost impossible to see anything positive but look for it and when you find it focus on that. Stir up your faith. If you can't find any good, then focus on the promises of God. Say them out loud. Speak them into existence. Believe in the good before you see it.
Surround yourself with positive people, positive support, and positive self-help's.
